Methodist Relief and Development Fund Charity All We Can (http://www.allwecan.org.uk/) gives £25,000 to ACT Alliance (http://www.actalliance.org/) in support of humanitarian action in response to the conflict in Gaza and the crisis in Iraq.

In a statement made to the Methodist Recorder, Chief executive Maurice Adams said:

“We continue to join others in praying for peace and for political leaders to use all the means they can to encourage resolution and reconciliation to end the violence and suffering

“As the Middle East is a complex region, where we do not currently have long-term partners on the ground, instead of launching our own emergency appeal we are encouraging people to support the appeals being made by our trusted colleagues in Christian Aid for Iraq, and the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) (http://www.dec.org.uk/) for Gaza, which is currently being match-funded by the UK Government.”

The ACT Alliance is a coalition of more than 140 churches and affiliated organisations working together in 140 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalised people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards.
